Custom 1969 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Build
From our shop in Norwich, Ontario, every build that leaves carries a name, and “The Admiral” carries its name with authority. The Admiral is the kind of vehicle that earns its title. This 1969 Chevrolet K5 Blazer is the product of thousands and thousands of hours of combined experience, a complete frame-off restoration, and the refusal to compromise on a single detail. Powered by a GM Crate Gen 5 LT1 6.2L V8 pushing 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, The Admiral is what happens when classic American craftsmanship meets modern performance.

MARINE BLUE & ENGLISH WHITE EXTERIOR
The direction for The Admiral was set from the moment our team landed on this combination. The deep marine blue body has a richness to it that you don’t fully appreciate until you’re standing in front of the truck, and the white trim and hardtop gives it a clean, classic contrast that feels entirely at home on a 1969 K5 Blazer. Our built team takes a lot of pride in their work, and they want that not just to show in the paint, but in every part of the truck you can and can’t see. The underbody is Raptor-lined and colour-matched. Every unused hole in the frame is filled, and all new gaskets, seals, and glass have been fitted throughout. The closer you look at The Admiral, the more the built quality speaks for itself.
The details matter for both looks and performance. The Admiral rides on 35″ Goodrich tires mounted to 17″ billet KMC rims. The fuel door is hidden behind the rear reflector, keeping the body lines clean and unbroken. The custom-built roll bar provides extra safety and style. The power is in the detail (and under your right foot), and on The Admiral, no detail was left unconsidered.

AN INTERIOR FIT FOR A CAPTAIN
Climb aboard The Admiral and it’s immediately clear: This truck was built for someone who appreciates the classics. It was built for the kind of person who rolls the window down on a back road, rests their arm on the door, and just loves the drive. That starts with the interior, and getting it right is something our team takes seriously on every build we do.
The custom seats and dash pad are built to feel like they’ve always been in this truck. Comfort for any trip, and faithful enough to the original look from the factory that you never forget what year you’re sitting in. Our custom Iconic seat bases make setting your driving position effortless, and back access much easier. The custom Iconic door panels and center console tie the whole cab together. Everything is intentional. Nothing feels like an afterthought. An Ididit tilt steering column and custom billet steering wheel look original but feel modern and comfortable. The Iconic Built-inspired digital gauges feel natural to the truck rather than bolted onto it. The whole truck feels classic and original, even though it’s got modern technology throughout.
Climate control in a build like this matters. It has to perform well for you to stay comfortable on your drive. The Vintage Air system we’ve installed in The Admiral looks classic and familiar, and works exactly as it should: Cool air or hot air on demand. Picture yourself on a warm summer evening with the windows cracked and the fan on low. Perfection. That’s what this interior was built for. When it comes to sound we built in a bespoke audio system that includes an amp, subwoofer, and sub-boxes that fills the cabin with the sound only the finest modern speakers can deliver. The Retrosound radio with Bluetooth and XM compatibility means the soundtrack to every drive is entirely up to you and whatever you choose. Whatever fits the vibe of your drive.

MODERN AMENITIES, HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT
One of the things we’re most proud of is knowing where to draw the line between classic looks and modern tech. Our builds include every modern convenience you’d expect from a luxury vehicle, but you’d never know it from the first glance.
Part of owning a truck like The Admiral is the little moments you don’t see coming. You walk up, open the door, and the steps are already there. AMP Research PowerSteps extend smoothly for when you need them and tuck away to be completely hidden when you don’t. That’s the kind of detail that you don’t notice until it isn’t there, and once you have it, you won’t want to go without it. The push-button tailgate with its hidden push button works the same way. Clean, seamless, and maintaining the classic look. Power locks, power windows, dome lighting, mirror-mounted LED turn indicators, every one of these features has been chosen and integrated with the same philosophy: Make life easier and the drive safer without ever pulling your attention away from the experience of being in a 1969 K5 Blazer. That’s the balance we chase on every build, and The Admiral has it.

THE POWER BEHIND THE NAME
Take command and put your foot down in The Admiral and it tells you everything you need to know. The GM Crate Gen 5 LT1 6.2L V8 produces 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. It’s an excellent balance. It’s enough power to make every drive feel like an occasion, but not too much to be a handful. The 10-speed automatic transmission keeps your drive smooth and composed. It pulls through gears in a way that makes the power feel effortless rather than overwhelming. The GM 12-bolt rear diff with positraction keeps the power planted, and the Atlas transfer case means the road (or lack of one) is never a limitation. The 3″ stainless steel exhaust completes the truck by letting the LT1 speak for itself. On an open road, with the windows down, the sound of The Admiral is one of those things you have to experience to understand. Once you do, you’ll be looking for any excuse to hear it again.

A CHASSIS BUILT TO MATCH
460 horsepower requires a chassis that can match it. An Iconic Built Reinforced Performance Frame Upgrade does exactly that. The frame has been completely restored, strategically reinforced, smoothed, and finished in high gloss black. Wiring is hidden within the frame rails for a clean underbody. We turned to Fox for the suspension, and if you know anything about Fox and ride quality and handling, you know why. Fox shocks on all four corners and a Fox front steering stabilizer give The Admiral a ride that feels planted and composed. A 4″ lift kit with soft ride leaf springs gives The Admiral a stance and off-road capability that a truck like this deserves. A high pinion angle front axle, crossover steering system, and front and rear disc brakes with hand-bent stainless steel lines makes sure all of that power controlled in your hands.
The Admiral is the product of thousands of hours of dedicated, passionate work by a team that refuses to settle for “good enough”. It embodies everything Iconic Built stands for: the precision of a craftsman, the soul of a classic, and the performance and amenities of a modern machine. This 1969 K5 Blazer isn’t just restored, it’s reinvented. It’s been given a new purpose, a new life, and a standard of quality that will endure for decades to come.

The Admiral awaits.
