Modern Trends was founded in 2008 by TJ Lamoureux, initially focusing on various automotive services, including 4x4 modifications, lifted trucks, big wheel installations, and general repairs. Throughout the early years, these services formed the core of our operations, allowing us to establish a strong presence in the automotive industry.

We provided an extensive range of high-quality automotive services to our customers. A custom 6-door pickup truck was built as a demonstration of our dedication to creativity and expertise in the automotive landscape.

TJ completed the restoration of his own '71 Camaro in 2010. Since then, he and Modern Trends have been immersed in classic car projects. From the completion of the Camaro onward, there has consistently been another classic being reinvented - continual fuel to our passion for classic restomods.

In 2016, the original Modern Trends shop was demolished, and a new, state-of-the-art shop was built in it's place. This new build enabled us to take on more work, with a renewed focus on restorations under the new Modern Restorations banner.

In late 2017, we established our own paint shop within a repurposed old Tobacco kiln. This move enabled us to bring our Modern Restoration projects in-house, allowing us greater flexibility, creativity, and improved quality control.

Now, the old paint shop is used for hockey practice.

In 2018, more space was needed to securely store and work on restoration projects. To accommodate this need, a 40' x 40' building was added beside the Tobacco kiln paint shop.

TJ was featured in Canadian Hot Rod Magazine. The article takes us through his career, recounting his quest for the ideal “rolling billboard” to elevate the Modern Restoration Brand.

In 2021, the Modern Restoration paint shop operations moved and expanded, relocating to a spacious, 6800 square foot facility situated on Airport Road, just down the road from the thriving original Modern Trends shop.

In 2023, Modern Trends rebranded its restoration business to Iconic Built. With a new name, and a brand new state-of-the-art 8,600 square-foot facility, Iconic Built emerges with renewed vigor and an unwavering commitment to quality. Our focus of merging timeless aesthetics with modern engineering starts with multiple classic 1969 to 1972 Chevy Blazer builds that are built to be driven.

Iconic Built officially launched in January 2024 at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale with the unveiling of our first build under our new brand: "Find Your Time", a completely reinvented 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer.
