Custom 1970 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Build
There are builds that impress you, and there are builds that unsettle you in the best possible way. Sidewinder does both. It was built around a single question: What happens when 650 horsepower meets modern luxury in a classic 1970 Chevrolet K5 Blazer? The answer is Sidewinder, with a supercharged LT4 engine with an interior packed with modern amenities that still maintains a classic, nostalgic look. Like its rattlesnake namesake, Sidewinder is fast, capable, and relentless. This is the kind of build that reminds you why you love horsepower. But power alone doesn’t make a truck like this. It takes a chassis that can control it, and a luxurious interior to balance it. Our dedicated build team puts thousands of hours of work into achieving the right balance, and what emerged is Sidewinder.

Here’s how it came together.
DESERT SAND & SCORPION BLACK
The Desert Sand and Scorpion Black colour combination is a nod to the famous desert snake. The colours create a two-tone contrast and overall look that is both aggressive and elegant at the same time. Black accessories and trim, including billet exterior door handles, black side mirrors, and black KMC wheels further reinforce the look.
On 35″ BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain KM2 tires mounted to 18″ black KMC wheels, this truck has the kind of stance that makes you pay attention. Auto-sensing JW Speaker LED headlamps light the way, and the hidden fuel door hidden behind the rear reflector keeps the body line clean. Looking underneath you’ll see the body is colour-matched with Raptor-lining to complete and protect the underbody.

AN INTERIOR WITH AN EDGE
Climb inside Sidwinder and you immediately understand who and what this truck was built for. It’s built for a person who wants to use every bit of that 650 horsepower, a person who wants to ride in luxury, and most importantly, a person who wants that classic 1970 Blazer look.
Achieving that balance starts with the cab. Custom seats and dash pad were meticulously designed to feel like they belong in this truck. The seats are comfortable enough for a long drive and true enough to the original 1970 interior that you never lose the feeling of what you’re sitting in. Custom iconic door panels complete the classic look, with a custom centre console with built-in armrest and storage.
The Ididit tilt steering column and billet custom steering wheel compliment the classic interior look but provide modern comforts. Iconic-inspired digital gauges are bright, readable, and designed to look like they’ve always been in a 1970 K5 Blazer. LED interior dome lighting lights the interior with a cool blue tone. Modern touches include centre console shifter, push button start with keyless remote, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Vintage Air A/C, digital climate control, and power operated windows via billet switches. Modern amenities in a classic vehicle – it’s all here.

EXPERIENCE ALL 650 HORSEPOWER
Sidewinder runs on a supercharged Chevrolet LT4 6.2L V8 pushing 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. That’s a number that means something when you’re driving it. Put your foot down and you’ll feel – and hear – the power of the LT4 Corvette engine. It’s powerful, but it’s not overwhelming thanks to a 10-speed automatic transmission that helps keep the power application smooth and composed (until you don’t want it to be). The 3″ stainless steel exhaust gives the supercharged V8 a sound that is an experience in itself. If you like a throaty, snarling V8 and the scream of a supercharger, then you’re going to love the sound of Sidewinder.

THE CHASSIS THAT MAKES IT ALL POSSIBLE
We built Sidewinder on a Roadster Shop RS4 Chassis simply because its the best foundation for a custom truck with this much power. No contest. We refinished it in high gloss black and fully hid the wiring throughout. Fox ATS steering stabilizer kit, Fox Factory 2.0 Bump Stop kit, and Fox Reservoir Shocks on all four corners keep you feeling fully in control and the ride smooth. Eight inches of front and rear travel mean this truck is just as capable off the pavement as it is on it. Bear Pro 13″ cross-drilled rotors with piston calipers, front and rear disc brakes, and hand-bent stainless steel brake lines, crossover steering, and front and rear anti-roll sway bars make sure all that 650 horses are kept in the driver’s hands.

Sidewinder was built for someone who wants the soul of a 1970 K5 Blazer and the kind of performance and driving experience that makes every drive special. Our team poured their hearts into this build, and it shows.
