The latest K5 Blazer to emerge from the Iconic Built shop is here, “Gametime“. Our team has set a new benchmark with this stunning build. A complete nut-and-bolt restoration has turned this 1970 K5 Blazer into a perfect balance of power and luxury. From an immaculately clean underbody, to a seamlessly modern interior, Gametime offers the vintage charm of an original 1970 Blazer while pushing 650 horsepower courtesy of it’s 6.2L Supercharged LT4. With a reinforced chassis, upgraded steering, and enhanced shock components, this blazer drives like it just rolled off of a modern factory floor.
Our team has just returned from Gametime’s impressive showcase at the 2024 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. While the truck didn’t cross the auction block, it captured attention within the Barrett-Jackson community. With this truck, show-goers and industry insiders got another up-close look at the craftsmanship that sets Iconic Built apart from other builders. This marked Iconic’s second appearance at Barrett-Jackson, and it’s always a pleasure to connect with fellow restoration enthusiasts to share in the passion and beauty of these remarkable builds. Building these vehicles is an incredible experience, but what truly makes it worthwhile is sharing the passion for restored classics with the community. It’s about connecting with people who appreciate these builds as works of art, not just machines. That shared passion turns each project into something even more meaningful.
Exactly what makes Gametime so special? We’ll take an in-depth look at all that goes into creating a truck of this caliber below.

RAVEN BLACK & FROST WHITE EXTERIOR
From the start our designers intended for Gametime to have a sporty feel to it, setting it apart from some of our previous builds that leaned more toward luxury. Gametime’s black and white paint scheme can be boiled down to the checkered flag at the end of a race. With a touch of red accents, a top of the line trim is instantly recognizable. Strategically placed across the seat belts, brake calipers, and engine bay, the vibrant red adds a modern, aggressive edge to the classic 1970 body style. This striking blend of sport and sophistication creates a truly unique look, guaranteed to capture attention wherever it goes. Gametime’s removable topper is finished in a body matching, Raven Black gloss paint. The seamless transition from the upper end of the truck through the body panels encourages the modern sleek look and feel of this blazer. Uninterrupted body lines with a hidden fuel door tucked beneath the rear light reflector enhance the refined look of this build. Thousands of hours are required from our experts to restore these vehicles to better than their original quality. Pictures do not do Gametime justice. The cleanliness of our builds and the quality that our mechanics uphold is an aspect of this truck that can only be fully appreciated in person.
When admiring the exterior of this vehicle it would be wrong to not mention the attention to detail that is put in to the entirety of the exterior. One of the true distinctions of our builds lies in the underbody. While many restored vehicles may appear pristine from a distance, a closer look often reveals flaws like rust, chipped paint, dents, fading, and even loose bolts. Our team’s attention to detail ensures that every aspect of our builds, including the often-overlooked underbody, is meticulously restored to perfection. We have no intention to ever sell a product that doesn’t meet the highest of standards. This is why the closer you look at our vehicles, the more the hard work, dedication, and attention detail we pour into each one-of-a-kind truck becomes evident. Every inch of this Blazer—inside and out—has been restored to pristine quality. An exterior that looks this good should be paired with a set of wheels just as mesmerizing as the build. These rugged 35” x 12.5” Goodrich tires on 17” KMC Billet wheels are ready for anything you throw at them—whether it’s tackling off-road trails, cruising to a friend’s for a few cold ones, or just taking a relaxed Sunday drive.

GAME CHANGING INTERIOR
Over the decades, we’ve grown accustomed to the modern bells and whistles that come standard in today’s vehicles. With this in mind, we aimed to create an interior that blends a timeless 70s vibe with modern comfort and space—perfect for hours of enjoyable, effortless driving without losing that authentic “Gametime” feel.
With Gametime’s sporty aesthetic as our inspiration, we approached this interior with a fresh perspective. Starting with the seating, we opted for TMI’s Lowback Sport-DD seats—a sleeker, more dynamic choice than those used in our previous builds, perfectly aligning with Gametime’s energetic vibe. The TMI Lowback seats provide enhanced side-to-side support for better handling at higher speeds, all while preserving the vintage aesthetics of the classic K5 Blazer. With a subtle bucket shape, these seats offer the comfort you need to unleash all 650 horses of this beast. Sewn with red line stitching and accented with red trim, they add a refined yet striking touch to the truck’s overall look. Each seat features responsive cushioning that makes long drives a truly enjoyable experience. One of the most underrated aspects of this vehicle is its versatility. With a spacious back bench seat, Gametime comfortably seats up to five people, making it ideal for trips to the beach, the game, or wherever your adventures take you. There’s always room for family and friends, so every outing can be a shared experience.
While the thrill of 650 horses roaring from your engine might steal your attention, Gametime also features a cutting-edge sound system. Equipped with Rockford Fosgate speakers in both the front and rear of the cab with with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto control, you’ll have complete control over your audio experience. Thanks to the Vintage Air A/C system, you can enjoy modern climate control with a digital display, all while preserving the authentic 70s aesthetic that keeps Gametime true to its roots. The same is true for the Dakota Digital gauge cluster, renowned for its vintage look. These gauges perfectly marry modern technology and responsiveness with a classic design. The components chosen for our Blazers do more than just perform their standard functions. With the support of these great brands, who have been enhancing restomod builds for decades, we can achieve a near-identical appearance to the original 1970 Chevrolet K5 Blazer while integrating the modern comforts we’ve come to expect. Our goal is always to reinvent builds that evoke the nostalgia of vintage vehicles without sacrificing the modern comforts and features we’ve all come to expect.

OUR MOST POWERFUL BLAZER TO DATE
Now lets talk about the elephant in the room, or in this case all 650 elephants. Gametime was special from the get-go because our team had a vision. Our vision was to make this truck absolutely roar and put a big smile on your face when you put your right foot down. To make that happen, a 6.2L Supercharged Corvette LT4 was installed. Completely fitted and engineered to ensure a proper driving feel, and paint matched with raven black and vibrant red to tie it all together. The way this truck accelerates from 0 to 60 is a dream come true for any car enthusiast. The exhilarating roar of 650 horsepower, combined with the sight of the speedometer climbing, serves as a powerful reminder of why we do what we do, and why we love classic restomods. Unfortunately, slapping a Corvette engine into your own 1970 Chevrolet K5 Blazer isn’t gonna be enough to recreate something like Gametime. The entirity of this vehicle has been rethought and reengineered to withstand that much power, including upgrades to not only the chassis and frame but the transmission and transfer case as well. The exhaust on Gametime features a polished aluminum MagnaFlow system, delivering both style and performance. Additionally, we’ve installed the CVR Racing all-inclusive serpentine system along with a GM 12 Bolt Yukon rear differential, further adding to Gametime’s overall performance. With its roaring power, responsive control, and versatile capabilities, the Blazer is ready to conquer just about anything. The possibilities are endless—it all comes down to what you want to do with it. Perhaps a football game tailgate?

A MACHINE OF MONSTEROUS CAPABILITIES
Gametime redefines the capabilities of a restored vehicle and sets a new standard for custom Chevy Blazer restomods. At Iconic Built there are no compromises. You get the nostalgic feeling of a truck from the 70’s, with an advanced audio system, vintage inspiried tech in the cab, and enough horsepower and gap your buddy Clark in his Mustang GT. Beyond it’s impressive stats, Gametime evokes craftsmanship. With a team of highly experienced and dedicated mechanics, engineers and designers, we will continue to produce vehicles of only the highest quality. As we continue to grow, our focus remains on delivering vehicles that embody both style and substance, making each project a true one-of-one masterpiece on wheels.
